【摘要】:Thistestmethodisintendedfortestingdryandwetabrasionresistanceofmanufacturedfiberyarns.Thistestmethodisespeciallyusefulforropesintendedforuseinthemarineenvironment.Thetestmethodhasbeenusedwithyarnshavinglineardensitiesrangingfrom70to300tex,butmaybeusedwithyarnsoutsidetheseranges.Limitedinterlaboratorycorrelationtestinghasbeenconductedtodate.Single-laboratorytesting,inaccordancewithASTMpractices,hasnowbeenconducted.Additionalinterlaboratorytesting,inaccordancewithASTMpractices,willbeconductedafterapprovalofadefinitivetestmethod.Testresultsshouldbeusedwithcautionpendingcompletionofinterlaboratorytesting.Thistestmethodisnotrecommendedforacceptancetestingofcommercialshipmentsintheabsenceofreliableinformationonbetween-laboratoryprecision.Iftherearedifferencesofpracticalsignificancebetweenreportedtestresultsfortwoormorelaboratories,comparativetestsshouldbeperformedtodetermineifthereisastatisticalbiasbetweenthem,usingcompetentstatisticalassistance.Asaminimumthetestsamplesusedshouldbeashomogeneousaspossible,bedrawnfromthematerialfromwhichthedisparatetestresultswereobtained,andberandomlyassignedinequalnumberstoeachlaboratoryfortesting.Othermaterialswithestablishedtestvaluesmaybeusedforthispurpose.Thetestresultsfromthetwoormorelaboratoriesshouldbecomparedusingastatisticaltestforunpaireddata,ataprobabilitylevelchosenpriortotesting.Ifabiasisfound,eitheritscausemustbefoundandcorrected,orfuturetestresultsmustbeadjustedinconsiderationoftheknownbias.Thistestmethodisconductedatoneorseveralappliedtensionsthatmaydependupontheyarnmaterialandsize.Thenumberandmagnitudesofappliedtensionsandthenumberofeightspecimensetsgenerallyareagreeduponinamaterialspecificationorcontractorder.GuidanceondeterminingtheappropriatenumberandmagnitudesofappliedtensionsisgiveninAnnexA2.1.1Thistestmethoddescribesthemeasurementofabrasionresistancepropertiesformanufacturedfiberyarnsindryandwetconditions.1.2Thistestmethodappliestomanufacturedyarnsusedinropemaking.1.3ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareprovidedforinformationonly.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
